New Manufacturing Plant Coming to Buckeye
New Facility to Bring 100 New Jobs to the Area
100 brand new jobs are coming to Buckeye by early 2017. Buckeye, just west of Phoenix, was chosen by Cardinal IG for their newest manufacturing facility. “This is the first industrial project in Buckeye in 20 years,” said Len Becker, the city’s economic development director. The city has been working hard to make the area inviting to industrial growth, which now appears to be paying off.
The glass manufacturing company, which is headquartered in Minnesota, specializes in residential glass products, including glass that is insulated, coated, tempered, and more. Some of their products include solar & glare control glass, all-climate glass (which helps to lower energy bills), “Neat” glass (which is easier to clean) and even hurricane-resistant glass.
The new Buckeye plant will sit on the 77 acres that Cardinal purchased, allowing for plenty of room for the facility to expand in the future. It will be Cardinal’s 12th plant for insulated glass manufacturing. Their other Arizona plant, which is in Casa Grande, specializes in coated glass.
The company says that training for these 100 new jobs will start at other U.S. plant locations before the new facility opens in 2017. They are currently in the process is hiring for these positions now.
Cardinal currently has 37 manufacturing facilities across the country, with over 6,000 employes total.
